Ohagi

Ohagi is traditional snack in Japan.

We eat it in ohigan. Ohigan is a term which means 3days before Autumnal Equinox and 3days after it.

Ohagi includes Azuki bean, glutinous rice, sugar and salt. If you eat normal ohagi, you should eat glutinous rice with Azuki. But recently people eat glutinous rice with kinako or sesame, so why don’t you try to eat them too.

My mother and aunt always make it for me. It is so delicious. When I eat it, I’m always full because of the glutinous rice. However, it is sweet, so I can eat as snack.
